In this article, I have taken my time to show you how to set up an Amazon account, so you can make your dreams come through.
Step 1: Create an Amazon Account
If you already have an account, there is no need to create another one. Creating another one could get you in trouble with Amazon if they find out. If you don’t have an account, you need to create one. Below are the steps:
Go to the homepage: Navigate to the accounts and lists at the top right corner.
Click on the Create your account option, fill in your name, and email, and create your password.
After creating your account, verify your account in your email, and then you will be granted access to Amazon KDP.
Step 2: Sign into Amazon KDP
Open your browser, and enter kdpamazon.com into your browser. Click on the “Sign in” button, enter your Amazon account details
Read and accept their terms and conditions.
Step 3: Set up your KDP account
Once you have signed in, you will see a prompt saying “Your account information is incomplete."
You can complete your account information by clicking on update.
The first thing Amazon will require you to do is add your Mobile number, an OTP will be sent, which you will add to verify your number.
Set up your account information; here you enter your full information. Your country, full name, postal code, address, and city.
Step 4: Set up Payment Information
To get your royalties, enter your bank account information. If your country does not accept electronic payments from Amazon, you can use Payoneer, once done, save your information.
Step 5: Tax information
Fill in your tax information here. During the Tax Identity Interview, you will be asked to provide your full name, country of citizenship, mailing address, and tax classification. Provide your US Tax Identification Number (TIN) if you have one. If you don’t have a US TIN, you can proceed with a non-US TIN. It is important to accurately input this information to ensure compliance with tax regulations. Additionally, remember to put in your electronic signature to validate the information provided and save your details.
Your Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) account setup is now complete. To start publishing your e-book, navigate to the 'add' option follow the prompts to upload your manuscript and cover design, and set the pricing for your book. Amazon KDP is an excellent choice for self-publishing authors. With Amazon KDP, you have the opportunity to fulfill your childhood dreams of becoming a published author.
