How Your Mindset Shapes Your Financial Future.

John is a senior at Westbrook High. He wants to be the star of the soccer team, so he applies to join the team and, fortunately, he is accepted. Due to his lack of experience, John has a hard time fitting in and is unable to score a goal for his team in three consecutive games. As a result, John concludes that he isn’t good at soccer and decides that it may be best to pursue other things, so he quits.

Your mindset is the driving force behind your actions, decisions, and ultimately, your financial success. John has a negative financial mindset, and this is the reason for his repeated failure.

In my latest book, “Kingdom Coins,” I explore the profound impact that your thoughts have on your life, especially when it comes to money. A positive mindset doesn’t just influence your life—it fuels your desires and helps you achieve your goals.

Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset

When it comes to finances, people generally fall into one of two categories: those with a growth mindset and those with a fixed mindset.

A Growth Mindset:

People with a growth mindset believe they can improve their financial situation through effort, learning, and dedication. They see challenges as an opportunity for growth and are always looking for ways to develop their skills. For them, mistakes are not failures but lessons that guide their future actions.

A Fixed Mindset:

On the other hand, individuals with a fixed mindset believe that their financial abilities can never change. They think that talent alone should be enough to succeed, and as a result, they often shy away from challenges. This mindset can lead to stagnation, as they don’t put in the effort required to improve their financial situation. John is a perfect example.

Why a Positive Mindset Matters

Adopting a positive, growth-oriented mindset is important to achieve financial success. Your past mistakes or financial setbacks do not define you. Yes, you’ve made errors that do not determine your future. What matters is how you choose to move forward.

In “Kingdom Coins”, I shared some powerful affirmations that can help you cultivate a positive mindset toward your finances:

  • I need my money to work for me. This mindset encourages you to invest wisely, ensuring your money grows over time.

  • I will work hard, but I will also invest wisely. Hard work is essential, but so is making smart financial decisions

  • I have made mistakes, but I will put in the necessary effort to ensure they don’t happen again. Acknowledging your mistakes is the first step to avoiding them in the future.

  • I will work towards achieving my financial goals. Focus on your goals and take consistent action toward them, no matter how small.

  • I know that I can overcome any difficulty. Confidence in your ability to overcome obstacles is key to overcoming financial struggles.

  • I shall overcome this problem because Christ strengthens me. For those who draw strength from their faith, this affirmation reinforces the belief that you are never alone in your journey.

Take Action

Take a moment to assess your mindset. Are you holding onto beliefs that limit your financial potential? Do you need to shift from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset? Start by adopting these positive affirmations into your daily routine.

Remember, your financial future can be changed with the right mindset. By cultivating a growth mindset, you can unlock new opportunities and achieve the financial success you desire.

Conclusion

Your mindset is the vehicle that drives your life as well as your financial future. By adopting a growth mindset, you empower yourself to overcome challenges and reach your financial goals. It’s time to take control of your thoughts and, in turn, your financial destiny.

Hope you found this helpful.
